Mark Morgan, President
With over 20 years’ experience in the health and life insurance industry, Mark specializes in managing and establishing employee benefit plans. He is a licensed Agent and Consultant experienced in working with private, non-profit, and governmental entities throughout the country and has been involved in numerous collective bargaining negotiations. He also works with hospital and provider organizations, and is one of the industry's leading proponents of transparency in health care financing, particularly in the area of pharmacy benefit management. Mark has extensive experience with consumer-driven programs such as wellness programs, health reimbursement accounts, health savings accounts, and Section 125 programs. His firm also conducts benefits surveys for government agencies, including the Kentucky Public Human Resources Association, the Tenessee Personnel Management Association, and the International Public Management Association, as well as a private industry benefit survey called the Greater Cincinnati Health Benefits Survey. He is regularly invited to speak at human resources conventions on health benefits.
Michael Williams, Senior Vice President, Licensed Consultant
Mike joined SHERRILL MORGAN in 1998. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, he has a diverse background in the health insurance industry as a marketing representative and service specialist. Mike also has experience as a billing representative, enrollment specialist, and a divisional trainer and has held positions with Humana and United Healthcare. He has extensive health insurance knowledge of claims issues, state laws and guidelines, and customer service. Mike is responsible for preparing analysis for all client renewals and new business quotes and is a primary consultant for SHERRILL MORGAN concerning any client service issues. Mike is a licensed agent and consultant. Mike also serves on several insurance company advisory boards and on several state advisory panels, including the Insurance Coverage Affordability and Relief program. Mike stays abreast of state legislative issues regarding health care and has served on various health committees. He also serves or has served on the advisory board for Humana, CHA, and the Dental Care Plus Group.
Lisa Stamm, Esq., Vice President of Consulting Services
Lisa is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She has been with SHERRILL MORGAN since 2005, and assists with the management of health and welfare benefit plans. As a licensed attorney, she is able to give consultation regarding applicable state and federal laws regarding health plans and employment issues relating to health plans. She is also available to answer questions regarding compliance with applicable laws, including COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA. She regularly attends EBIA seminars. Lisa is also an expert and featured speaker on regulatory issues, particularly as they relate to wellness programs and on how to legally provide financial rewards to employees who achieve actual improvements in their health. She played a major role in assisting SHERRILL MORGAN clients with the recent CMS filing deadlines and briefing them on recent updates to HIPAA regulations. She has been a member of the Kentucky Bar Association since 1992.
Robin Curry, Government Agency Advisor
Robin recently came to work with SHERRILL MORGAN to serve on the self-funding side of the health insurance business. Robin has a Bachelor’s degree from Thomas More College and has worked in both local government and the private sector. Robin served Boone County Fiscal Court as Assistant County Administrator and Human Resources Director for nearly 18 years prior to coming to SHERRILL MORGAN. During his time as Human Resources Director with Boone County, Robin was involved in transforming the health insurance from a fully funded plan to a partially self-funded plan in 1999 and served as administrator of the plan which still is in effect at Boone County. Robin serves Boone County as a commissioner on the Boone Florence Water Commission.
Michelle Middendorf, CPA
Michelle manages health and welfare benefits for large, self-funded groups. As a certified public accountant, she is able to give consultation regarding the financial aspects of health plans, as well as compliance with FASB and GASB standards. Michelle oversees the SHERRILL MORGAN survey team. She is a 1992 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, and has previously practiced public accounting for Ernst & Young and sales tax for Cincinnati Milacron. Michelle also oversees the involvement of SHERRILL MORGAN’s contracted actuarial partners and claims auditors. Michelle stays current on FASB and GASB standards specifically as they apply to health and welfare plans.
Shannon Mason, RHU, REBC
Shannon has 14 years of experience in health and pharmacy benefits. She has negotiated and established regional PPO networks, and has also negotiated contracts with pharmacy benefit managers and third party administrators.
Shannon is a graduate of College of Mt. Saint Joseph and Indiana Wesleyan University. She is a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC).
Kristen Fields, Customer Service Director
Kristen assists self-funded and fully insured groups with network provider and claims issues. She is available to groups and their employees to answer benefit questions and address concerns. Kristen acts as a patient advocate while assisting with claims issues, appeals development and process, and provider negotiations. Kristen joined SHERRILL MORGAN in 2008 and is a licensed Agent. She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University.
Adam Cahill, Individual and Employee Benefits Specialist
Adam is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, having double majored in History and American Studies. He has extensive knowledge in self-funded medical and fully-insured ancillary lines of coverage. He has served in many sales roles with experience in third-party administration, medical stop loss, life and disability. Adam’s area of expertise includes Individual Life, Health, Annuities, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D plans. He holds state licenses for Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Florida and Tennessee.
Anna Carney, Life/Health Agent
Anna joined SHERRILL MORGAN in 2008 prior to her graduation from Northern Kentucky University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She holds life & health insurance state licenses for Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Her responsibilities include managing health insurance and ancillary benefits for companies and individuals as well as prospecting for new clients. She also specializes in helping individuals with their life insurance, estate coordination, long term care, annuity, and disability needs.
